The Star was a hugely popular local pub that closed its doors in 2021. Brucan Pubs have restored the former love and atmosphere of this 17th century dwelling whilst putting the community at the very heart of the whole operation.
A pub cannot run by bread alone.
Whilst food is undoubtedly the main feature, The Star has a relaxed drinking bar with roaring fires in the winter, rotating cask ales, perfectly curated wine lists and a warm welcome assured. Outside a sensitively landscaped garden and dining terrace ensure The Star is the perfect spot to enjoy socialising with friends and family all year round.
The menu offers daily seasonal specials, and plenty of game, meat and fish with a focus on British seasonal fare, a weekly changing menu.

The first venture in Brucan pubs’ portfolio, The Greene Oak offers the ideal spot for a cosy mid-week meal, a buzzing Sunday roast or Friday night drinks on the sun-soaked terrace.
The Drumming Snipe offers a warm and relaxing atmosphere for you to enjoy the perfect mid week meal, a delicious Sunday roast or a Friday night catch up with a great selection of cask ales, wines and cocktails to choose from.
The Greyhound brings the simple principles of traditional hospitality and integrity to Finchampstead. A relaxed and enjoyable pub for you to meet, socialise and dine. Whether a mid-week tipple, formal business lunch, family gathering, or a lavish Sunday roast we are here for you.
With a warm welcome from the genuinely hospitable team, guests are invited to enjoy our informal dining room, quirky garden spaces or sink into the leather clad tub chairs in our bar area, but most of all – to enjoy our great quality menu, simply prepared.
